Hey all, Searched the DUC, but not finding anything... Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how to make a (not too expensive) ISO box for guitar recording? The POD PRO is great and all, but nothing will fully emulate the tonal characteristics of a tube amp! Living in an apartment, I don't have the option of miking my 4x12 Marshall Cab so, I was wondering if anyone could share any information on how I could do this. I would basically like to do what Randall released awhile back, but hopefully a little smaller in size. I need to make a box big enough to house one 12" speaker, and enough room to position the mic accordingly. Basically, I want to be able to crank my Marshall, be able to record it, and not shake the paint off my neighbors walls. Any help would be great appreciated! Chris

If you hav some closet space that doesn't connect to a neighbors bedroom, an old futon mattress or two, and a 1x12, you can make an iso cab. Use the futons to cover the floor walls and ceiling (get creative laying them alnog the floor and up a wall, then the other lay around the wall that remains., Put the cab on the mattress covered floor. Run a heafty piece of 12 guage pair to it (unshielded of course) which can be gottan at Home Depot for cheap $$$ (and it's nice good copper strnded 12 gauge wire too!!) Run a good quality mic cable along with this, mic with your fav mic, position, and you're ready to rock.
