Where is the best place to purchase an HD system?

I am partnering with a college to purchase an HD system. I wanted to know if current HD users have gotten really good deals on purchasing their systems? Any places besides Sweetwater as I already have a sales rep there. We wanted to get an HD3 system, Sync I/O, one 192 I/O (with analog), Waves Gold Bundle and Antares Autotune. Also I know that PT 6 will only run on OS X. Can the HD system still be purchased to run on OS 9.2.2? Thanks a lot!

Where are you located?

Please correct me if am wrong, but it is my understanding that new Digidesign products, not including third party peripherals, can only be purchaced through your assigned regional authorized Digidesign dealer.

We are in Nashville. I have already checked with the Tennessee Reps. And I believe one can purchase where the best deal is found. Thanks again!

TDM sales have always been and will continue to be restricted to dealers in your region. A relationship with a local dealer is worth much more than the few dollars you would save by ordering online, etc.

This has been discussed here before. The high-end products need to be purchased through the dealer that is assigned to your geographic area. This keeps the dealers from trying to out penny each other without leaving enough overhead to support the customer after the sale. Mbox, 001 and similar products can be purchased anywhere. If Digi has changed this policy, I hope they respond here.
