"select track" midi assign?

Hi there, I want to be able to assign a button on my MIDI controller to select each track, i.e a button to select track 1, a button to select track 2, so on. This way, I can can select the track, then apply panning using the one spare wheel I have. At the moment I have to select the track with the mouse, but I ideally want the screen switched off while as much as possible ... Can it be done? I don't see it in actions...

You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. --------------- If you install Xenakios' Extensions module you will get many many more Action, including "Select next track" and you can assign a shortcut to that Action. :) Xenakios Extensions:

Thanks for the welcome Dark Star! I have assigned some midi keys to next + previous track, but I'm after specific track selects (track 1, track 2) etc. While I'm thinking on, does anybody make a MIDI controller that looks/functions like a real desk? I'm amazed I haven't come accross one before... Installing xenakios extensions now...

Oops I misread. :o Anyway - you want sws' Extensions :) (for the first 32 tracks anyway) and you could use "Select tracks in Group ..." to select another 32. SWS Extensions:
