Well, tbh I'm a bit disappointed. But maybe it's just that I don't get it - for me it looks though, as if R4 (alpha) is still not being capable of proper loop-recording, even though there have been new functions introduced, because some fundamental shortcoming have not yet been fixed.
Could explain for us Jens? What fundamental shortcomings are you encountering? I loop record and then comp the takes all the time here - I must be missing something? What constitutes 'proper'? I'm not disagreeing or anything - just don't understand relative to my own workflow Cheers Jed
Same here. It seems to be a question of the definition of "proper loop recording". A fundamental shortcoming for one might be something another one never even thought of, so more details would be helpful.
well Jens, I'd invite you to say stuff more polite as we are not at the Cubase or Cakewalk forum. This is the Reaper forum. Did you forget that? :-) You could make an FR and not rant about it ;-)
On the subject of loop recording, not specifically a V4 thing but... When recording a loop layering multiple takes onto the same item, I want to be able to listen to all the previous takes. Monitor track media only plays the previous take so I have to use a looper plugin to fake it, which is very cumbersome and error prone. I can't find an FR for this but I know it has been raised a few times by various people.
