Reapitch formant

I'm wanting to raise a vocal track one octave to create a falsetto part, but it seems I can't get Reapitch to sound like anything but a chipmonk. I have VVocal in Sonar and it does it quite well and sounds good, but I am trying to avoid the time and trouble of exporting and importing vocal tracks. Anyone have any idea of which algo or formant settings might work? Thanks all! Milt.

I would use elastique pro2 preserve format (most pitches), then lowest and highest pitches to narrow down what works best for the original pitch. I find it works well for an octave, giving quite a natural sound (when the parameter is right), but makes the singer sound quite a bit younger.

^^^^^^^^ what they said it's never going to sound perfect. i find if you mix it in with the original you can get away with quite a lot, though.
