I keep hearing this and that. I need a faster mac and I'm sick of waiting for my dual 1.25ghz to arrive, but they have 1.6 and 1.8 gig G5s in stock, and I need to get something sorted. Is it possible?? I dont care about support, just is it possible? How long now DIGI?? SG
I just posted a reply on another thread, but to answer your question, no. I bought a G5 and an MBox on Friday, not knowing about the compatiabilty issues. PTLe simply crashes after it's launched. If anyone has more info, it would be greatly appreciated. For now, I'm stuck with a powerful computer and software combo, but have yet to hear a note of music... My local GC won't take the MBox back, so my options are limited... tg
This is extremely disappointing. I would wish for Digidesign to get their act together and be quicker at supporting new platforms. Just reading that Digidesign doesnt support the new OSX update. This is appauling. Logic supports the G5s and has done for a while, what are Digidesign doing!? I have to use my crappy G4/400 to do my sessions, its so embarrasing, when clients know that Logic can support G5s, and PT is well behind, with many things not just this. Disappointing. SG
Yeah, I'm kinda bummed about the whole thing. I have 2 options: 1. Return a $2500 computer and buy older technology (G4) just to run PT. (and run the risk that it will be updated a few days after returning it) 2. I'm a former Logic 5 user (Windows), so I could just update to version 6 and throw my Echo Mia into the G5. I'm not sure which way to go. What I do know is that I'm not making any music right now... tg

Hi Stu, I just took delivery of my new dual G5 today. I ordered it on the 16th from the Apple Store UK,it took only 8 days from build to delivery. I am impressed with Apple UK! Unfortunately, I can only get Reason to run on the G5, so no multitracking yet... I now just have to wait for the software programmers to catch up. Oh well... back to my G4 400!
