Why MIDI don`t function on Protools...

Sorry! i`m a new PT LE user, i have a Digi 002 whit Protools 6.7 into nice PC machine (Pentium IV 3 Ghz, 1 Gb Ram, Sound Blaster Audigy Proo, ATI All in wonder 9500, Intel 750 Mother board, 80 Gb hard disk Seageat Barracuda to 7200 RPM, and so on... Why MIDI, into Digi 002-Protools 6.7 don`t function, i have a Synth Alesis QS 6.2 conected (midi and sound so), into PTLE don`t happen enithing, i mining, i see the leaders moving but i can`t hear enithing. So, when i close PTLE and open Sony Acid 4, it`s to easy, and i can do midi and sound, this Sony Acid program, reconoised all; Digi 002 whit midi-sound conected, efect multiprocessor whit my electric guitar and my Creative ProdiKey, and Alesis Synth (midi and sound). What do i do into PT LE 6.7 and MIDI functioned correctly??? thaks and regards Carlos Bigurra

Hi Ben Welcome back. Miss me? Kis problem is simple. he has to route the audio outputs of his synth into the audio inputs of his Digi interface. Create an Aux track with those inputs enabled, raise the fader and he's good to go. (I only responded to this to get a post up on you )

Make sure midi out of the 002 goes to midi in on the synth. Midi out of the synth goes to midi in on the 002(pick either 1 or 2). Make sure midi thru is checked in the midi dropdown menu in protools. I use midi all the time with no problems in 6.1, 6.4 and now 6.7.

there is a good section on MIDI in the Pro Tools Reference Guide. if you look for a file called PT Reference Guide.pdf, and go to Chapter 13, it sould answer your questions. i'm sure there used to be a Spanish version of the manual but it's not there anymore, sorry! see if you can find it on the Digidesign Website.
