Ok here goes...... I have an AVI file that currently has a ratio of 608x256. I'm presuming because this AVI file is not yet available in the UK that it is a NTSC version. I have managed to create the AC3 file from the clip. I have now got to the part in the walk-through where it goes on about encoding the remaining video content. The problem is that no matter how many times I read the info on aspect ratio I just cant get it to display at a decent size and one which would work on a UK TV. I have a widescreen TV and I'm not trying to get the picture to fill every pixel. I just want it a decent size to watch. I did pick one ratio and it did encode it but when I got to the Maestro part it told me it was not a "valid resolution at 25fps". Questions: a) What would be a decent resolution to use. b) Should I be using PAL or NTSC, I know region 1 dvd's work in my player and on my TV. c) When I've finally got a good video output does Maestro just join the Video with the Audio file I created earlier. d) Please tell me it gets easier than this !!! LOL Thanks Paul M
a) please do not talk about illegal content... to me this sounds very much like a downloaded movie... b) avi is a container... xvid can be in this container, as can divx... steVe
Surely what u download and burn is your right as it is ours to protect the board and its members. Did u ever think that we don't want to know what u download and burn? What made u feel obliged to inform anyone about your actions? I suggest that u edit your 1st post and change the tone of your second.
I agree, my tone was a little sharp. However, as for my first question, noboady knows what I've downloaded, from whom I've downloaded it or for what reason! It is there for surely nobodies business but mine. I agree, people do download illegaly and you would be a fool to say this was ever going to stop. I also respect your point about protecting the forum but as I read the top of this page I see it says "THE in place for EVERYONE intereseted in DVD CONVERSION." Then that is what I'm trying to do, I'm trying to convert a Xvid file to a DVD. Again I apologies for my earlier rudeness, I just require a simple answer for what you guys must consider an easy question.
Paulo, please calm down. what odysseus said is our duty and since you hinted pretty strongly at the fact that you were dealing with illegal content, i quote "I'm presuming because this AVI file is not yet available in the UK that it is a NTSC version.", it is our policy to not help with such content BECAUSE it poses a threat to the existance of the forum and site as well as to the owner of it, doom9 personally. even in an IN place for EVERYONE there have to be rules and you accepted them when registring in the forum. "It is there for surely nobodies business but mine" you made it one by mentioning that you were dealing with illegal material and the fact that you haven't told us that we are wrong tells us that we were right! so pls see my sig... use the links there and with some reading you will find the questions to your answers fairly soon anyway... steVe
