If you select the area then split the item at time selection and add the FX to the item FX then apply track FX to itema s new take that should do it ...
im confused. i did the following, SWS: Bypass FX on selected track(s) Xenakios Extensions: Apply Track FX to Items and Reset Volume SWS: UnBypass FX on selected tracks now when i press play, i get no sound, plus the item is still using full cpu? but ctrl+shift+f, works very good and uses no cpu. so what am i doing wrong? i need to note that on first problem, i have no fx on item/track. maybe that's the problem?
ok, i obvious didn't get the hint about needing to "apply track fx as new item" before SWS: Bypass FX on selected track(s) Xenakios Extensions: Apply Track FX to Items and Reset Volume SWS: UnBypass FX on selected tracks after doing that, i brought the cpu down from 17-0.76 but question, is it normal for my track to still be using 0.76 cpu? i thought tracks use absolute 0 cpu when the process is done? also, can somebody help me create a macro for the process to make it easier? thanx.
question, are doing all the actions listed, assuming that i first selected "apply track fx as new item"? i should be more clearer. what i want to do, is, (on one track at a time, which is a single track, work on the parts in sections. so i would say, create a an 8/16, or 32 bar melody, then i would want to (freeze that section to save cpu. but, i only want to freeze that section, not the whole track. the first time i freeze that section, it will be with just vstis on it so i can layer 2 or 3 vstis while conserving cpu giving me the ability to work without limits with the main plan being layering. after i was done layering my vstis (fx chain) i would want to move onto the next melody on the same track, and so on, and so forth, so it would be like this, 1)create melody, 2)layering and creating vsti fx chain, 3)move onto to create new melody. this would all be done on the same track. once i had all my melodies created, freezing section by section, after id done this on all tracks, lead, bass, pad, etc etc, i would go back and add fx to each track, so no, i don't want to freeze each item/section with individual sounding fx, i want to freeze each section using track fx meaning fx i add on top of my vsti chain. so what would happen in the final process would be after all the sections/melodies were created, id be apply the track fx to the whole track and it would sound the same for each section because the fx would be added to the track and not per item. i hope i was more clearer :)
