Toast Extraction

I'm trying to import a CD track into Pro Tools. To do this I'm using Toast Audio Extractor. The problem is ProTools keeps telling me that it can't import the track because it has 16 bit samples. How do I get round this?

Use "convert and import" from the edit window. or get Peak, a sound editor.

Also you might want to make sure that you are not trying to import a 16 bit file into a 24 bit session. PT won't let you do that.

Don't use the import audio from movie command if you can avoid it. Translating the audio to Quicktime format sounds horrible I think. I've gotten very mixed results. Try using the convert and import command. That should be able to make the CD audio 24-bit. Am I wrong? Better yet, use the digital output of your cd player and just record the track straight into PT via s/pdif.

YOU CAN put a 16bit file into a 24 bit session... use convert and import from the edit window.. I dare you.
