My guess is that the type pf mic you use will greatly determine the type of perimeter you need. If you will be using an omnidirectional mic, you would probably want to go with a full enclosure on all sides, as that mic pattern picks up signal from every angle. Otherwise, a basic condenser/cardioid pattern mic would allow you more room to experiment. I suppose you could close the area behind the vocalist, as well as a wall (or mattress) on each side, leaving the front open. This would normally enable the mic to pick up only what's in front of it, in this case the voice. I'm no expert at this, just tried to use some basic guidleines and my own judgement to help you along. Perhaps someone else can give you a more accurate answer. Of course, you could just experiment and trust your ears until you find what sounds right. Move things around and you'll eventually hit the spot. good luck pk
