6.0.2 and Mbox

Digi said that 6.0.2 would work only with 002. What I think you could do is create another user in the os, and install 6.0.1(or whatever) for your Mbox only for that user. I believe it is possible to install seperate apps for seperate users. Hope this helps...hope I'm right!

Hi MCroasmun Sorry for asking a new Q instead of answering yours..... How many tracks/plugs do you get out of set-up? I'm thinking about getting a set-up with the same(ish) perfomance (iMac 17"/m-Box) I'd be forever greatful ...... if you could give me an idea of how well it works Thanks J.

J., I've been working on a project with 24+ tracks and 8 or so plugins total recently on the Mbox and my laptop. The system occasionally feels sluggish, though PTLE 6 seems to just feel sluggish no matter what from time to time. It doesn't feel like I'm really pushing the limits yet (no buffer underruns or anything). Hope that helps. Matt

Well, back to the actual topic of this thread, I too need to be able to run ProTools with both the MBox and 002Rack, and quite frankly, I can't believe that Digi would be so stupid as to not allow for this. Tech support told me today that the solution was to repartition the drive, with one version of proTools on each. Are they kidding? Reformat my drive because of Digi's poor code writing? As you may have guessed, I'm PISSED! Tonight I'll try to make a new user and install the new 6.0.2 into an applications folder within the new home folder. Keep your fingers crossed.

Official word from my regional Digi guy is that this problem is resolved with 6.1, due mid July.
