I have a session that has about 30 tracks where, in two places, I get a guaranteed 9093 buffer underrun error every single time I try to play over the area, which covers about a half of a second. There are no audio or midi regions near the bad spot. I can close, save as, restart, whatever and the problem does not go away. I even tried to import the tracks into a new file and that didn't get rid of it. I remember this happening once with my old 98se 5.1.1 setup too. I'm running xp now. Does anybody know what causes this and have a recomended fix?

Keny, Also, I once had the same thing, but with a 6042, and even after the pc was fixed, it would do the same thing only in that session. Digi even suggested that had been a problem before. So, I would try simply a 'Save Session Copy As' with all Audio files in tow. It takes a while but hopefully it'll be worth it. ~rh
hey Darren, tried to defrag, even though there were no audio files where the bad spot was. Nope, didn't work. Havent tried to Save Session as, there's only about 14 gigs of audio files! @#%@#$%& But I will do it because I need to be able to fix it if it happens again. Thanks Roy
Same error here. Have one single session that had an edit of about 12 bars at the beginning of the song -- we rewrote the intro. Everytime it would play for about 9 1/2 bars even before any audio came in I would get a 9093 error. I marked the rough spot with a marker for reference. If I start the song after this point, no problems. I even created a blank session and imported the audio in one track at a time, starting with drums -- but after any of the drum tracks, I would get the same error at the same place. I went back to the original session and did a shuffle cut on the first 12 bars instead of a grid cut (thus deleting the area in question). It works fine now. This was not a CPU issue because the meter is at 25% tops and I have many other songs that use far more CPU than this one. Does PTLE 5.3.1 have an issue with playing silence for more than X number of bars? Thanks, John, It's not a garage recording studios.
