Duplication of files in 6.0.1

Duplication of files in 6.0.1 

I had a problem this week, maybe someone can shed some light. I transferred a dozen songs from 2" tape to ProTools 5.1.1 on a g4-733. 9 of the songs fit on individual cd's. 1 cd had 3 songs on it. When my client took it to his mix studio running jaguar 10.2 and PT 6.0.1, all 9 cd's tranferred fine. The one cd with 3 songs on it would open fine, but it would duplicate all of the audio files when the session was opened. This wasn't a problem, but I am curious as to what did I did to cause this problem in the first place. I got the cd back from the mix studio, and confirmed that this event could be duplicated. On my machine with 6.0.6 and 10.2, the same duplication of files occured. I opened the sessions with 5.1.1 and did a "save session as", re-opened them in 6.0.1, and everything is fine. What just happened?? Thanks for any replies.

If there is a / , . or other character in the Pathname/FolderName or Drive name and you check "enforce MAC/PC compatibility then this will happen. Make sure to remove those characters from the path names. M
