I am having similar problems only with the latest version 1.10b1 (and 1a). I never had problems with previous versions, many DVD back-ups. Now Spiderman Region 1. Using new feature "use frame selection" AND CVD subs I get the delay. Taking OFF the CVD subs, voila, no delay. I see above that you are using neither subs or frame selection so probably no relation in our respective problems but..... Second back-up in a row "Y tu mama tambien". Using CVD subs and frame selection, there is a delay. I ripped with all three methods, internal, vstrip and smart-ripper. Nothing seemed to change the outcome. Now, I am currently going at it again...... Internal Routines --> frame selection --> permanent subtitles I will write back with a report. If it doesn't work, I am going to try again with 1.09b3. Thanks again DVD2SVCD :)

sandchar99 if you use Internal routines how long does DVD2SVCD say the first chapter is? If it's 5 seconds then you could simply unselect it and then rip everything else. If it's much longer then other methods will have to be used. Mark

At least for my attempt, the Internal routines do not separate out the opening warning screen. I have noticed that the first chapter is about 5 seconds shorter for the widescreen version, so it seems it is built into the first chapter which is 2 min and 29 seconds long. Matt

I tried to backup the Princess Bride DVD with the wide screen edition and DVD2SVCD worked perfectly. It is the same DVD but one side is the wide screen and on the other is the full screen view that bares the warning about the format changing. Thanks. Matt

I knew always to use internal routines first. Out of habit, I always check the chapter lengths to make sure there are no 0 second length chapters at the beginning. No short chapter of 5 seconds duration appeared in the chapter lisr. Methods that did not work: 1) Internal routines 2) vStrip 3) SmartRipper 4) Internal routines and frame selection to delete the problematic 5 second cell. 5) vStrip and frame selection to delete the problematic 5 second cell. 6) IfoEdit to edit the IFO to not play that first 5 second cell. Method that WORKED  7) Smartripper, uncheck only that first cell of the two cells (ie, not the second cell) in that first chapter. Load the IFO file into DVD2SVCD and rerip with Internal routines. Proceed as normal. I still see that warning about the format changing at the beginning and I could edit it out if I wanted, but I didn't. Note: I'm still not sure that it is necessary to re-rip. Everyone talks about async audio-video with SmartRipper. I've never had that problem.
