Are all the downpipes the same?

i have a 440li 1.8 and the exhaust im attempting to fit to it is off a 440turbo but already im in trouble as the downpipe on mine has a different flange to the one on my exhaust. anyway this exhaust workied no problem on my other 440glt as it was the 1.7 engine just like the turbo but without the... well turbo lol. so i was thinking would a downpipe from a 4401.7/1.6/2.0 or turbo fit my 1.8? or should i get the whole lot exhaust manifold and downpipe? if i do it this way will it be a straight bolt on or is there a difference? the other way i was thinking of doing it was th cut my original downpipe from the flange and weld a flange off the cars i mentioned but then i was thinking would the downpipe on my 1.8 be longer to that on the others?... lol sorry if i have confused most of you but for those that still understand my jibberish plz let me know my options and which would be best to do? cheers

The Automatics are different and are still a volvo part . Fitted a s/s exhaust from cat back about eight years ago and still tip top, bought through VOCclub and fiited spot on.
