dvd2avi says everything's deinterlaced

Just wondering if this is normal. It s been around 10 movies since I last had a movie dvd2avi called progessive. All my dvds are pal. Recent ones include Shrek Brotherhood of the Wolf Seven Lethal Weapon 4 I didn't really recognise any interlacing on them, but then again I'm no expert. Is it some kind of default setting? I know theres the obvious answer that they're all interlaced, but this seems a bit odd.

dvd2avi tends to says most of the times that movies are interlaced,even if they arent.Same happens to me.Trust your own eyes.

ironic thing is that yesterday it told me blackadder eps were progessive. However I watched ep 1 afterwards and there was a lot of lines around any movement. I though it might have been the xvid codec (26/09) but now figure it was interlacing !

yea it was interlacing on a sidenote, if a source is actually progessive, does running fielddeinterlace affect it?
