It all sais hardware out . I'm going in though Right ? - with my Korg to play the track and record it to save as a file. Where do i go to have Reaper read my Korg ? I'm struggling here .. marc
Hi, Dreamer Sorry for not answering your PM I had a longish answer ready yesterday, but it somehow went wrong and vanished when I tried to send it :( Central point was to keep it really easy. As first step try to record the stereo mix sound of your EMX1. - Connect it's Main audio outs with the audio inputs of your PC. - Go into Reaper's preferences >> Audio >> Devices and make sure these inputs are enabled. If available, chose an ASIO driver for your interface. If you happen to work with an internal soundchip of your mainboard, you might want to download and install ASIO4All, it really helps. But you should be able to do this without also - Next create a track in Reaper, rightclick on it's meter or the button labeled "ar". In that menue look for the "Stereo Input" submenue and chose the input your EMX is connected to. - In the same rightclick menue select "Record: input" as well as "Monitor Input". At this point, hitting play on the EMX should play your song and you should see signal registering on the meter of this track (as well as the master strip in the mixer). For now stop the EMX again and go ahead. - hit the "Record" button on Reaper's transport and then start the playback of your song on the EMX1. Your song should be recorded now. Let it run through and stop both (Reaper and the EMX). Now you should have a new item on that track containing the stereo mix as it came out of the EMX. If not, something went wrong on the way. - Slip the silent parts at the beginning and end of your recorded item away and you're ready to render the result to any file format you like and that you know MySpace will swallow. Keep it slow, but stay relentless :) Rest assured, you'll get it sooner than later.
Do you have the Korg's audio output somehow connected to the computer's audio interface? As you described, your track is set up and ready to record audio, so your MIDI connection doesn't matter in this case. To record MIDI, you'll of course have to choose a "MIDI input" on that same rightclick menue. But I really recommend to get the audio side sorted first for two reasons: 1) You'll have to record the audio at some point anyway 2) By recording the audio (and I mean the stereo mix coming out of the korg when you playback your song on the Korg), you will have something to upload right away and then can go with the next step.
Go into Reaper's preferences >> Audio >> Devices and make sure these inputs are enabled. If available, chose an ASIO driver for your interface. If you happen to work with an internal soundchip of your mainboard, you might want to download and install ASIO4All, it really helps. But you should be able to do this without also HOW DO I CONFIGURE ASIO ? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WRITE IN THE BOXES . I PURCHASED A AUDIO CONVERTER FOR MY COMPUTER TO PLAY MY TRACK FROM MY KORG . I TRIED ( DIRECT SOUND ) in the audio device section but no dice . So where am i going wrong ? This is VERY FRUSTRATING !
(ASIO4All,) OK I've added ASIO4All - monitor input checked - record input checked - Mono 1 checked - ( it wont give me the option for stereo 1 or 2 ) Still no sound ! grrrrr..
Does anyone know if ' DAZZEL 'Dvd recorder software will work for Audio ? The guy at Radio Shack said it would do the trick because of it's audio plugs . He said it still converts sound or audio also along with video .
